Toddler & Combination Classes

Dance, Dance, Dance!

These classes are for children ages 2 to 5. Does your child love to twirl, play make-believe and dress up? Then they will love Dance, Dance, Dance!  Each week your child will hop, skip and twirl through an imaginary adventure! By encouraging your child’s creativity and independence in a fun and supportive atmosphere, you will see your child blossom before your eyes! Dance, Dance, Dance! features unique theme-based classes that will keep your child excited for dance class week after week. It includes fun bonuses to celebrate your child’s success along the way! We offer three different levels for these ever-growing dancers. This class incorporates Ballet, Tap and Jazz. It is vocabulary incorporated and continues to build on primary motor skills to aid in self-assurance and confidence. Dance, Dance, Dance! class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

What do I need for class?

Dance attire (leotard, tights, skirt, leggings, etc.), pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes.

Combination Classes

These classes are for children ages 5 to 10. Combination Class takes the Dance, Dance, Dance! experience to the next level and more by moving at a faster pace. This class incorporates Ballet, Tap and Jazz. It includes a breakdown of the basic dance steps with an emphasis on proper technique. Careful attention is given to positive encouragement while working on technical corrections. Combination Class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

What do I need for class?

Dance attire (leotard, tights, skirt, leggings, etc.), half soles and black tap shoes.

Technique & Master Classes

Ballet

Classes for ages 5 and up. A stylized, formal type of performance dancing, ballet aims to create graceful patterns and involves rigorous training. It is the fundamental technique for all classes and is strongly recommended as an addition to any class.

Class meets once a week for 60 minutes.

What do I need for class?

Black leotard, tights and pink ballet shoes.

Jazz

Classes for ages 5 and up. This class trains in the development of jazz technique and
focuses on mastering various turns, progressions and enhancing performance
qualities.

Class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

What do I need for class?

 Dance attire (leotard, sports bra, booty shorts, leggings, etc.) and half soles.

Tap

Classes for ages 5 and up. Tap movements are concentrated in your feet and ankles. Wearing shoes with metal taps allows you to tap out the rhythm of the music you are dancing to. Arms, head and hands are important but complementary to the actions of the feet.

Class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

What do I need for class?

Dance attire (leotard, tights, skirt, leggings, etc.) and black tap shoes.

Lyrical/Contemporary

Classes for ages 8 and up. This class concentrates on expressing your own feelings while incorporating ballet techniques. These open dance styles use body contractions, flexed feet and off-center body shapes. The movements use the entire body by extending the body lines and possess a flowing quality, although a strong pulse may be used to emphasize dynamics.

Class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

Dance attire (leotard, sports bra, booty shorts, leggings, etc.) and half soles.

Leaps and Turns

Classes for ages 5 and up. This class is designated to all turn and leap progressions and is a great way to get extra help on advanced skills.

Class meets once a week for 45-60 minutes.

Dance attire (leotard, sports bra, booty shorts, leggings, etc.) and half soles.

Hip Hop

Classes for ages 6 and up. Hip hop is a form of street dance, the newest trend in jazz dance. Movements are bouncy, fast and funky. This style is extremely foot oriented but uses isolation movements, popping, locking and break-dancing.

Class meets once a week for 45 minutes.

What do I need for class?

Comfortable attire for easy movement and sneakers (CLEAN, not worn outdoors).

Pointe

This class is for the technically strong dancer who has advanced to a level in ballet where her body can accept the physical demands for Pointe work.

Class meets once a week for 45 Minutes.

What do I need for class?

Black leotard, pink tights and pointe shoes.

Acrobatic & Tumbling Classes

Acro/Tumbling

Developed by and for dancers! This Acro class works on improving flexibility, stamina and control to seamlessly work acrobatic skills into dance routines. Each instructor is certified to teach these classes and help all the dancers reach their tumbling and flexibility goals!

This class meets once a week for 60 minutes.

What do I need for class?

Dance attire (leotard, sports bra, booty shorts, leggings etc.) 2 yoga blocks (size 4″x6″x9″) and a Thera-band.

Hip Hop/Acro

combination of hip hop class and Acro/Tumble class

Pom

This class will focus on pom technique for those looking to improve their skills for cheer or dance team. Each week they will work on sharpening movements, creating visuals and other dance and cheer skills to improve performance quality.

What do I need for class?

Dance clothes or form fitting clothing, half soles or sneakers that have not been worn outside.

Fee Schedule

Innovative Movement Dance Company offers what I like to call an a la carte approach. With so many of the students wanting to be involved in many activities; such as dance team, cheerleading, soccer, etc., this approach allows them to take class, have a choice as to how many and is at a cost that is affordable. You create your own package!
